APPLE DAY!
Our 1st Fundraiser of the year!! Apple day was started by a Scout Group in New Brunswick in the 1920's, and is still a Scouting Tradition to this day. Please meet at the Community Center shelter in town at 9:00AM.......Dress for the weather, bring a polishing cloth and a

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO IN SCOUTING THIS YEAR?
Many of you are probably surprised at the amount of fundraising we do. To be honest, without it, we simply could not exist.
At Registration this year, Parents pay $175.00 per Youth Member to join our Group. Our net cost to register one Youth Member is $155.00. The amount you pay covers insurance, marketing and advertising, upkeep of Scouts Canada owned camps, etc. This list goes on and on, and really is quite a site to see.
The money we make on each Youth we register is used to help in the following ways: Leader Training, Leader uniforms, Snacks and meals at Group events, including: Apple Day, our annual Banquet, Scouttrees, etc. We also use the funds to maintain our Group Quartermaster inventory which is stored here in town. Our inventory is large enough that we can equip a Group weekend camp and cover all sections. Think of it; tents, stoves, lanterns, water jugs, pots and pans, utensils etc. etc. After a Group camp function, there is always gear that needs to be mended, fixed, or replaced.
Suddenly, the $20.00 cost per Youth Member we make doesn't sound like much, does it?
We, the Leaders who plan and run the programs for the Youth do not receive pay......These are all volunteer positions.
Our fundraisers include: Apple Day and Trails End Popcorn in the Fall, and Scout Trees in the Spring.
We ask that you stay involved, and please participate by volunteering your time in our fundraisers, our Group, and your Scout need YOU.
